In June 1988 toxic waste was dumped by an ltalian company at Koko in Delta State of Nigeria, the attendant media and public outcry prompted the government to react swiftly. Through diplomatic channels, the Nigerian government succeeded in getting the Italian government and the Italian company that was the culprit to lift the toxic waste out of the country. Marking the 2019 World Environmental Day ,CCDI-NIGERIA and CCDI Inc,Maryland, visited the location at Koko where waste was dumped, in picture,is Professor Mohammed Al-amin ,a Professor of Environment management and a Senior Adviser to CCDI-NIGERIA at the actual location in Koko to take look on the vegetable and the soil of the site.
